90cm Funassyi on Holiday

It has been a while between posts... I should do so more often.

On the weekend of the 4th November 2016 I went on a holiday to Apollo Bay along the Great Ocean Road in Victoria.

Despite living in Victoria all my life, I had never been to this part of Victoria before.

Here are some photos of my trip

Haiku

I have been playing in twitter a lot recently, as I can practice reading and typing hiragana on my smart phone, something I can't do on my PC (well, the typing part anyway). Last night I decided to try my hand at a haiku using hiragana. I have no idea why I decided to do it, but I did. This is what I came up with:
ふなっしー
きいろいなしは
あいらしい
funassyi
kiiroi nashi wa
airashii
The English translation is not as "romantic" sounding and doesn't work within the rules for haiku, but I have included it here for those that don't read/speak Japanese.
funassyi
yellow pear
captivating
It isn't a very good haiku, but it is my very first attempt, so I am content with it. I might try to make better ones later on.

This is the latest story I sent to my Mother in Law.

 2: Doko ni kazareru kana?

2: Where can we hang them?

3: Koko wa muri nassyi na

3: Not in this area nassyi

4: Kono ki ni wa koala ga kuru kara, koko mo dame nassyi

4: A koala visits here, so not in this tree

5: Kono ki wo tsukattara dou nappi ka?

5: what about this tree nappi?

6: Yattaa! Boku tachi no koinobori ga sora wo oyogi hajimeta nassyi yo!

 6. Yay! Our koinobori started swimming in the sky nassyi!

7: Koinobori wo kazareru kara, "Kodomo no Hi" wa tanoshii nappi ne!

 7. As we can display koinobori, Boy's Day is fun nappi!

It is actually story #11, with story #8 still having two parts to send. Confusing I know.

Funassyi & the Rakuten Eagles

This year saw Funassyi teaming up with the Rakuten Eagles to throw the first pitch at one of the games.

It just so happens that I am a baseball fan, and even before Funassyi teamed up with the Eagles, I was an Eagles fan, so it was a match made in heaven for me.

Unlike every other sport on this planet, the Japanese Baseball league is the only sport I can not watch live via web streaming  - I have searched and searched and searched, but can never find any streaming of the games.

But fortuantely, fan have posted links everywhere, so I can see the events of today.

The first pitch of the game video:

And some images from the pre game event:

And the first pitch of the game:

Image sources: various twitter accounts - all images have been linked from the image itself, and not posted by myself.

Funassyi Easter Story ( Funassyi no Easter no ohanashi)

One of my Funassyi stories that I send to my Mother in Law.

I have the English version, followed by the Japanese Version in Romaji.  I hope to do Hiragana/Kanji later for those that can't read Romaji.

1: Sleeping Bag Funassyi: There are some Easter eggs hidden in the garden for you to find.

(1: Nebukuro Funassyi: Easter eggs o ikutsu ka niwa ni kakushita kara, futari de mitsukete ne nassyi.)

2: Funassyi: we should put all the eggs we find in this basket.

(2: Funassyi: Yosshi! Jaa, mitsuketa tamago wa kono kago ni ireyou nassyi.)

3: Funagoro: yay! I found some eggs already!

(3: Funagoro: Yattaa! Mou tamago o mitsuketa yo!)

4: The basket still looks empty nassyi

(4: Kago no naka wa mada garagara nassyi yo.)

5: Ooh! some eggs on top of this kowaii tree stump.

(5: Ooh! Kono kowai kirikabu no ue nimo tamago ga atta!)

6: four eggs are still not enough.

(6: Tamago yottsu wa mada sukunai nassyi na.)

7: There are some on this weird plant too.

(7: Kono hen na shokubutsu nimo tamago ga atta yo.)

8: the basket is starting to look full.

(8: Kago no naka mo ippai ni natte kita nassyi.)

9: I wonder where else some could be?

(9: Hoka wa doko ni aru kana?)

10: Funagoro: I will look in this grass.

(10: Funagoro: Kono kusa no naka wa dou kana?)

11: eeh, no eggs there

( 11: Eeeh, nani mo nai....)

12: I wonder what is hiding behind this tree?

(12: Kono ki no ushiro niwa nani ga kakurete iru no kana?)

13: Yay! we found all the eggs, and a golden rabbit too!  Happy Easter Everyone!
(13: Yattaa! Tamago wa zenbu mitsuketa shi, kin iro no usagi mo mitsuketa yo!  Minna, Happy Easter nassyi!)
